Innovation Funding Specialist Catax, a Ryan Company, Acquires R&D Tax Relief Consultancy Access2Funding

DALLAS and LONDON (June 13, 2022) – Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, today announced that innovation funding specialist Catax, a Ryan company, has acquired research and development (R&D) tax relief consultancy Access2Funding.

Access2Funding, headquartered in Birkenhead, Merseyside, United Kingdom, will continue to operate under its own name, with Catax retaining all 32 of the company’s staff, including CEO Dawn Coker. Since being founded in 2014, Access2Funding has made more than 1,650 R&D tax credit claims for businesses of all sizes, recovering in excess of £54 million.

The deal is just the latest in a string of acquisitions that Catax has made since it was founded in 2008. Catax operates not only in the R&D tax credits arena but also specializes in capital allowances, patent box, grants, and remediation of contaminated land.

Manchester, UK-based Catax was itself acquired by Ryan in March this year, further strengthening Ryan’s R&D global market position, presenting new service offerings in the UK and expanding the Firm’s scientific research and experimental development (SR&ED) practice in Canada.
