DALLAS (May 7, 2019) – Ryan Software, a division of Ryan, a leading global tax services and software provider, announced it has enhanced RatePoint®, its proprietary, single-source tax solution for tax rate lookup and monitoring needs, to incorporate a new group of tax rates, including prepared foods and on-premise liquor consumption. RatePoint, Ryan’s comprehensive, powerful, and easy-to-use sales and use tax rates solution, tracks rates at all levels for the U.S., U.S. territories, Canada, and major countries outside North America.
“Prepared foods and on-premise liquor consumption rates are highly coveted data sets that few providers offer. We added these rates to the general sales and use tax rates, and our other specialty verticals, to better serve our clients and the market at large,” said President of Ryan Software, Jayme Fishman.
RatePoint’s data are optionally paired with a geospatial module that can take an address, convert it to latitude/longitude values, and return the jurisdiction and associated rates. Alternatively, users can supply the latitude/longitude values without the address to get the result. “Pairing the most accurate jurisdiction system with industry-leading content has made RatePoint the clear choice for many of our clients,” added Fishman.
RatePoint data can be accessed via flat file, web-based user interface, or Application Programming Interface (API), which facilitates communication with other applications. The data include:
- Rate record details for all the jurisdictional levels (i.e., state, county, city, and special tax districts), including the tax authorities for each rate component
- Specialized fields to demonstrate max taxes, thresholds, etc.
- Historical rate data going back at least 10 years in every jurisdiction
RatePoint can be installed on site or hosted by Ryan and provides users with a leading, turn-key solution for lookup and monitoring.
