Property Owners Could See a 15% Property Tax Increase in Rutherford County, Tennessee

Earlier this week, Mayor Joe Carr of Rutherford County reluctantly proposed a 15% property tax increase to the county commission. The increase is designed to target a $64 million deficit that has accumulated over the last few years in the fastest growing county in Tennessee.

This potential increase will impact everyone that owns property in the county. Below is the proposed tax rate for Rutherford County and the city of Murfreesboro.
