On June 21, 2021, the Fulton County Board of Assessors mailed the initial 2021 property tax assessment notices. Taxpayers will have 45 days from the date of issuance to file an appeal, creating an August 5, 2021 deadline for Fulton County.
The 2021 tax year is the first year the dramatic impact of COVID-19 can be legally incorporated into the appeal discussion for taxpayers. Given Georgia statutes regarding multiyear value freezes following appeals to the Board of Equalization level, it is imperative to consider the long-term impact of the 2021 tax year.
