Benefits & Compensation
Ryan recognizes that our benefits provide for the well-being of our employees and their families. Most of our benefits are available to employees on their date of hire. Employees working in a regular, full-time capacity (minimum of 30 hours per week) are eligible to participate in all of the benefit plans offered by the Firm. And because we understand that one size does not fit all, we offer many benefit plan choices, including:
Ryan provides outstanding health benefits and choices for our eligible employees and their dependents (i.e., spouse, domestic partner, and children).
We offer two plans that allow employees the freedom to use both in-network and out-of-network providers for medically necessary and routine preventive care services—a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan and a High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). A substantial employer subsidy is provided for both employee and dependent coverage.
Ryan offers a dental plan to all eligible employees and their dependents. The plan provides comprehensive coverage that helps you pay for preventive, basic, restorative, and orthodontia services.
Ryan offers comprehensive vision coverage to all eligible employees and their dependents.
Focus on Results
As part of our innovative myRyan work environment, employees are free to take time off at their discretion, guilt free, consistent with the needs of clients and the Firm, as long as their work gets done. The focus is on results and superior client service, rather than on where and when work is completed. myRyan is designed to allow professionals to achieve the highest level of success and productivity in all areas of life, including professional and personal endeavors. Because Ryan measures performance on results achieved, not hours worked, traditional vacation and Paid Time Off (PTO) programs are not in place for exempt (salaried) employees. The Firm offers PTO to non-exempt employees working in a regular, full-time capacity (minimum of 30 hours per week) in order to provide a compensated period of rest and relaxation or compensation for those instances when an employee is unable to work due to personal reasons, illness, or injury.
The Firm provides ten (10) paid holidays per year to all eligible employees. More details about myRyan will be made available during the on-boarding process.
Ryan offers a competitive 401(k) plan that provides a full array of investment options to defer earnings, either through pre-tax or Roth contributions, and an employer matching contribution to all eligible employees.
Ryan's Section 125 Plan enables eligible employees to pay for certain benefit plan premiums with pre-tax dollars. Net taxable income is reduced, which potentially lowers income and social security tax. Pre-tax options in the Section 125 program are as follows:
This option allows premiums to be deducted from paychecks in pre-tax dollars. Federal Tax and FICA are not withheld on these premiums. W-2 income is reduced by the amount of the premiums.
Healthcare Reimbursement or Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Employees are able to set aside pre-tax income into a Healthcare FSA to pay for non-reimbursable medical expenses for themselves and their qualified dependents. These expenses are not covered by insurance. Also, employees are able to set aside pre-tax income into a Dependent Care FSA to pay for eligible child care and elder care expenses.
Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
Employees who are enrolled in the HDHP may elect to open an HSA for pre-tax payroll deduction. The HSA is owned and opened by the employee. Ryan provides the option of this account for payroll deduction via our medical plan provider and its affiliates.
Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
Ryan provides both short-term and long-term disability insurance at no cost to eligible employees.
Company-Paid and Voluntary Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
Ryan provides group term life and AD&D insurance coverage at no cost to all employees working in a regular, full-time capacity (minimum of 30 hours per week). Employees may purchase additional term life and AD&D insurance coverage for themselves and their dependents.
Employee Assistance Program
Ryan employees and their immediate families have access to a confidential referral service to discuss personal or professional issues they may be facing. This service is fully subsidized by the Firm.
International Business Traveler Insurance
For the convenience, as well as security of Ryan employees traveling outside their home country, we offer International Business Traveler Insurance. This coverage includes medical and inpatient hospital services, as well as assistance with lost luggage, security, trip planning aids, and emergency contingency help for all eligible employees traveling internationally on Ryan's behalf.
Parking facilities for all Ryan offices are subsidized by the Firm for the convenience of employees.

CPA/Bar Exam Review Course
Upon successful completion of the Uniform CPA/Bar Examination while employed at Ryan, the Firm will reimburse up to $4,000 for fees relating to review courses and examinations taken during employment at the Firm.
Professional dues to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), state societies, and other equivalent professional associations for non-CPAs are reimbursable.
Ryan has one of the most comprehensive training curriculums you'll find in the industry. Developed by our own professionals, our extensive learning activities will enhance your knowledge and prepare you for the challenging and diverse issues you will encounter during your career.
For new consultants, each of our Practices offers valuable training programs designed to quickly build a foundation for their Practice-specific taxation concepts. In addition to the valuable training provided the first few months of your career, Ryan professionals actively participate in professional education through various professional tax organizations.
When our employees reach the Senior Consultant level, they are able to request membership in professional organizations, and Ryan reimburses them for their membership. Additionally, employees are provided opportunities to attend external, professional organization-hosted seminars, conferences, and courses to enhance their skills.
With our focus on lifelong learning, we also offer our own continuing education program along with Practice-specific, role-based curricula to regularly update our professionals with current information, software, and technical training to further develop their professional skills. All of these learning experiences merge and promote our professionals to be the most knowledgeable, creative, and competent taxation experts in the industry.
