This full-day seminar includes three modules covering SR&ED and government funding, Canadian income taxes, and how to manage common audit exposures.
The SR&ED/Government Funding module will provide an overview of both programs, eligibility criteria, expenditures that can be claimed, practical examples of qualifying items, and recent developments in the administration of the programs. The Canadian Income Taxes module is designed to provide a valuable overview of tax compliance, structures, rates, and incentives related to conducting business in and/or through Canada. The presentation will compare and contrast the Canadian income tax system with the U.S. regime. The Managing Common Audit Exposures module is designed to help organizations avoid today’s most common GST/HST, QST and retail sales tax audit exposures. In addition to analyzing commodity tax exposures currently encountered by organizations doing business in Canada, our presenters will provide relevant, practical advice on how to prevent such exposures and manage the dispute resolution process.
